Woman struck, dies after semi stalled on westbound I-270

HAZELWOOD, MO – A woman who was on the side of the road after her semi broke down on westbound I-270 was hit and killed by another vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.

According to 5 On Your Side News, the fatal accident happened on westbound I-270 near James McDonnell Boulevard around 12:37 p.m.

The woman was driving a semi that broke down and was setting up cones to alert other drivers to the stalled semi. A vehicle hit her and she died from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

Local authorities shut down two lanes on I-270 to investigate the crash. The lanes were expected to be closed for several hours.
