Woman injured after two-car crash on US-67 SB in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — A 47-year-old Bonne Terre woman was hospitalized Tuesday evening in a collision involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 67 southbound near De Soto, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper M. D. Benson responded to the accident in the southbound lanes of US-67 at Papin Road shortly before 7:00 p.m.

A 35-year-old Illinois man driving a 20o2 GMC Sierra failed to yield to a 2010 Chrysler 300 driven by the woman, causing the front of the Sierra to strike the driver’s side of the Chrysler.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson with moderate injuries.

The Chrysler was totaled and the Sierra sustained extensive damages in the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
