Woman and 1-year-old girl injured in rear-end crash on I-70

BRIDGETON, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A woman and an infant girl were injured in a rear-end crash on I-70 early this morning, according to information from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on eastbound I-70 west of I-270 at 12:13 a.m., when the driver of a 2012 Mazda 6, 21-year-old Brennen H. Bledsoe, of Belleville, Illinois, crashed into the back of a 2020 Nissan Rogue.

The driver of the Rogue, 37-year-old Crystal J. Smith, of Hazelwood, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A 1-year-old girl riding in the Rogue was also taken to the same hospital with moderate wounds.

Bledsoe was not reported as injured.

The baby and both drivers were wearing a safety device when the crash occurred.
