Warrenton driver killed in two-vehicle crash on Highway 47

WARRENTON, MO – A 51-year-old Warrenton man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 47 on Tuesday night.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jonothan R. Schneider, 51, was traveling southbound too fast for the icy road conditions in a 1997 Ford Explorer. He lost control of the Ford and it traveled into the northbound lanes. The Ford hit a 2014 GMC Denali, driven by 33-year-old Debra C. Lawrence, at 25521 Highway 47 around 8 p.m. Police report the impact caused the Ford to travel off the left side of the road and overturn.

Schneider was pronounced dead at the crash scene at 8:08 p.m. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Lawrence, of Hawks Point, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for serious injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
