Update: MSHP releases more information in fatal pedestrian accident

JENNINGS, MO – A 20-year-old male driver hit and killed a 74-year-old female pedestrian at the intersection of Halls Ferry Road and Cozens Avenue on Thursday night.

This is an update to an earlier post.

Police report the fatal crash occurred when Elizabeth B. James walked into traffic and was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Marcus L. McClellan. The fatal accident occurred around 7:14 p.m.

James was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She was pronounced dead there at 8:28 p.m.

The Chevrolet sustained moderate damages in the crash.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
