Two people sustain injuries in Jefferson County accident

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident on eastbound Highway M late Saturday night.

Megan D. Tatum, 27, was traveling east on Highway M in a 2013 Honda Accord when she swerved to miss a deer, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. She lost control of the Honda. It traveled off the right side of the road and hit two trees. The accident happened west of St Lukes Church Road around 11:30 p.m.

Tatum and a 29-year-old male passenger were transported to Mercy Hospital South for minor injuries. Both people were wearing seat belts.

The Honda sustained extensive damages.
