Two people seriously injured in southbound US-67 accident

BONNE TERRE, MO – Two people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on southbound US-67 on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 74-year-old Vada J. Pikey was traveling east on Shannon Road in a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. Jason B. Sutton, 42, was traveling south on US-67 in a 2008 Dodge Charger. Pikey failed to yield to Sutton and the front of the Dodge hit the rear of the Volkswagen around 1:30 p.m. The impact pushed the Dodge into a northbound semi, driven by 38-year-old Michael J. Miller.

Pikey and Sutton were transported to Mercy Hospital South.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts.

Both the Dodge and Volkswagen were totaled. The semi sustained minor damages.
