Two people injured in single-vehicle crash on I-70 exit ramp

ST. LOUIS, MO – Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on the westbound I-70 ramp to Lucas and Hunt Road on Monday evening.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Martez K. Rhines, 21, was traveling west on I-70 in a 2007 Honda Accord. He attempted to exit onto Lucas and Hunt Road and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the exit and overturned around 6:30 p.m.

Rhines sustained serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. A 21-year-old passenger, Deandra S. Johnson, sustained moderate injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. Both Rhines and Johnson were transported to Barnes Jewish Hospital.

The Honda was totaled.
