Two people injured in rear-end collision on westbound I-70

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MO – Two people were injured in a rear-end collision on westbound I-70 on Monday afternoon.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 50-year-old Jason D. Latham was traveling west on I-70 in a 2019 Honda Pilot when he slowed down for an event that happened in front of him. Janine M. Heying, 56, was traveling behind the Honda in a 2016 GMC Acadia. She rear-ended the Honda at mile marker 184 around 12:40 p.m.

Latham was transported to St. Joseph West Hospital Lake St. Louis. Heying was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. MSHP reports they were both wearing seat belts.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damages.
