Two people injured in Highway 67 crash on Christmas night

FESTUS, MO – Two people were injured in a crash on northbound Highway 67 at S. Buck Creek Road on Christmas night.

According to local reporting, the two injuries include 80-year-old Austin D. Robertson, of St. Louis, and a 17-year-old from Hazelwood.

Robertson was traveling in a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when he allegedly failed to yield from S. Buck Creek Road onto northbound Highway 67. He struck a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 51-year-old John D. Ruth, of St. Ann, around 6:09 p.m.

Robertson was transported to Mercy Hospital South for serious injuries. The 17-year-old was also transported to Mercy Hospital South for moderate injuries.

Police report everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
