Two men hospitalized after Route 8 collision

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO – Two men were hospitalized as the result of a crash yesterday evening in Washington County, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Missouri Route 8 and Stoney Point Road, east of Hopewell.

Mineral Point man Bradley E. Drennen, 40, was driving a 1996 Dodge 1500 when he failed to yield, and his Dodge hit the side of a 1999 Chevrolet S-10. The driver of the Chevrolet was Stacy F. Declue, of Blackwell. Declue then went off the side of the road and the vehicle overturned.

The damage to the Dodge was extensive, and the Chevrolet was totaled.

They were both taken to the hospital after the crash. Drennen’s injuries were described as minor, and Declue’s as moderate.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
