Two injured in two-car crash near ramp to US-50 EB in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO — Two people were hospitalized Monday afternoon after a collision involving two vehicles near an onramp to US Route 50 eastbound in Union, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper R. J. Steele responded to the accident near the merge to US-50 eastbound from state Highway AT at around 4:23 p.m.

A 2017 Nissan Rogue was heading eastbound on US-50 and a 2004 Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Highway AT. The Escalade failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing the Nissan Rogue to strike the Escalade multiple times.

Both the causing driver and the victim driver, a 37-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy respectively, suffered minor injuries and were transported by hospital to Mercy Hospital Washington.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and were towed from the scene.
