Two elderly men seriously injured in crash on Route K in Franklin Co.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO – Two elderly drivers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision on Route K in Franklin County this morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision happened at Route K and Elk Run Road at 8:10 a.m., when the driver of a 2021 Chevrolet Blazer, 80-year-old Bolivar man William V. Girardier, failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming 2005 Buick Lesabre.

The front of the Buick then collided with the front of the Chevrolet, causing both vehicles to run partially off the roadway.

Girardier and the driver of the Buick, 79-year-old Sullivan man Everett J. White, were taken to Mercy St. Louis with severe injuries.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
