Two children injured in northbound US-67 accident

FESTUS, MO – Two De Soto children were injured in an accident on northbound US-67 at Montauk Drive on Sunday night.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Zachary A. Stevenson was traveling south on US-67 in a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan when he attempted to turn left onto Montauk Drive. Ricky W. Hudgens, 47, was speeding on northbound US-67 in a 1998 Buick Regal. The Buick hit the rear of the Dodge around 8:26 p.m.

Two children, ages 4 and 7, in the Dodge were transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for minor injuries. Neither the children nor either driver were wearing seat belts.

The Dodge was totaled and the Buick sustained extensive damages.
