St. Louis woman seriously injured in southbound I-55 accident

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 26-year-old St. Louis woman sustained serious injuries in a crash on southbound I-55 late Friday night.

Police report Maegan A. McPherson was traveling south on I-55 in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala and attempted to overtake a 2001 Toyota 4Runner. The right rear of the Chevrolet struck the left front of the Toyota and causing the Chevrolet to travel off the right side of the road. Police report the accident happened north of Union Road around 11:50 p.m.

McPherson was ejected from the car. She was not wearing a seat belt. Police report she was transported to Mercy Hospital South.

The Chevrolet was totaled and the Toyota sustained minor damages.
