St. Charles man injured after crashing into ditch in Bridgeton

BRIDGETON, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A man from St. Charles was injured after he crashed into a ditch in the Bridgeton area yesterday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on the eastbound ramp from Missouri Highway 370 to I-270 at 8:10 a.m., when 50-year-old Mayank T. Shyam, of St. Charles, was reportedly operating a 2019 Toyota Prius at an unsafe speed.

He lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the roadway. The Prius crashed into a ditch, then rolled over.

Shyam, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of moderate wounds.

No other injuries were reported in the accident.
