Speeding driver injured in Washington County crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO – Nathaniel Atchely, 24, sustained minor injuries after crashing his 2014 Chevrolet Sonic on Highway A on Wednesday morning.

Police report Atchely was traveling eastbound on Highway A when he took a turn to fast and crashed east of Haven of Rest Road around 11:55 a.m. After losing control in the curve and traveling off the right side of the road, Atchely overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the road. The Chevrolet hit a barbed wire fence and several trees then erupted into flames.

Atchely was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital.
