Seven people injured in Scott County accident on I-55

SCOTT COUNTY, MO – Seven people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on northbound I-55 on Thursday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mickey C. Boatwright, 69, was traveling north on I-55 in a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro. For unknown reasons he rear-ended a 2013 Ford Fusion, driven by 19-year-old Madison O. Barber, around 8:41 a.m. Police report the accident happened around mile marker 88.2.

All injured parties were transported to St. Francois Medical Center Cape Gerardeau.

Boatwright, of Sikeston, and a passenger in his vehicle, 56-year-old Terry L. Hosford, sustained moderate injuries.

Barber, of Sikeston, and several passengers in her vehicle sustained injuries. Police report Barber, 18-year-old Michael R. Turner, a 15-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries and an infant in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles were totaled.
