Passenger dies after teen driver fatally collides with parked vehicle

ST. LOUIS –  KDSK reports that the 17-year-old passenger in a vehicle driven by a teen died following a collision with a parked pickup truck on Wednesday.

According to police, the teen was driving a Ford Taurus on westbound Riverview Blvd when he crossed the center line and plowed into a pickup truck.

The impact sent the Taurus into the front yard of a house on the 1100 block of Riverview Blvd. The driver fled the scene on foot.

Dispatchers sent EMS crews to the scene of the accident around 4 a.m. They transported the victim to an area hospital where they later died.

The incident is under investigation by an accident reconstruction team.
