Man seriously injured in motorcycle crash on Highway 179 near Jefferson City

LINCOLN COUNTY, MO — An 83-year-old Troy man was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a motorcycle accident along Highway 179 near Jefferson City, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Highway 179 south of Highway C and was reported at 11:20 a.m.

The man was riding a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a northbound course when his vehicle ran to the right side of the roadway, causing the bike to overturn and eject him. The motorcycle came to a stop on the left side of the roadway.

The man was rushed to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis where his condition is undisclosed.
