SAUGET, IL – An East St. Louis man was killed while walking his bicycle along the side of the road in a hit-and-run accident in Sauget Wednesday night, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The accident happened at about 10 p.m. near Monsanto Avenue and Falling Springs Road when the victim, 59-year-old Thomas Williams, Jr., was struck by a silver sedan head-on. The driver then fled the scene after killing Williams.

Sauget police are searching for the driver of the silver sedan—which likely has damage to the front passenger side—and are encouraging witnesses to come forward with any information.
