Man injured in single-vehicle crash on Route Y in St. Francois County

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO — A 26-year-old French Village man suffered injuries Thursday morning in a single-car collision along Route Y in St. Francois County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on a stretch of Route Y west of Hillsboro Road in the unincorporated community of Valles Mines and was reported at 6:02 a.m.

A 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling westbound on Route Y when its driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the right side of the roadway and strike a tree. The Trailblazer was overturned in the impact and the driver, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, ejected from the vehicle.

The man was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries.

No other information about the cause of the crash has been reported.
