Man escapes after crashing vehicle into Mississippi River

ST. LOUIS, MO – Officials responded to reports of a vehicle careening into the Mississippi River early Thursday morning.

According to Fox 2 Now, the incident occurred at the Riverfront at about 6:00 a.m. The driver apparently lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over into the river.

The man was able to get out of his vehicle safely before emergency services arrived on the scene. No word on what may have caused him to lose control of the car has been released as of Thursday evening.

No other injuries have been reported as a result of the crash.
