Local authorities close I-70 after fatal pedestrian accident

O’FALLON, MO – Local authorities closed down a portion of westbound I-70 after a pedestrian was hit and killed on Sunday afternoon.

According to KMOV4 News, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on westbound I-70 near Highway K at mile marker 218.8 around 1 p.m. Police report a person got out of their vehicle and ran across the highway. A vehicle hit and killed the person.

All lanes of westbound I-70 were re-opened around 3 p.m.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
