Driver leaves the scene after striking pedestrian on I-70

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – Law enforcement officials in St. Charles County are searching for the driver responsible for striking a pedestrian then leaving the scene early Friday morning.

According to an official crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred within the westbound lanes of I-70 at mile marker 211, shortly before 4:00 a.m.

Investigators at the scene believe the driver of an unknown vehicle traveled off the north edge of the roadway, striking a post then a pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

The pedestrian, 29-year-old Cody Wilson, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
