Cargo van rear-ends semi on eastbound I-70, one person injured

WARREN COUNTY, MO – A 2017 Ford Econoline cargo van rear-ended a semi on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 203 on Wednesday morning.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, 64-year-old Steven E. Crawford, of Snellville, GA, was traveling east on I-70 when he stopped due to a crash ahead around 9:30 a.m. Jovincent Pena, 25, lost control of his cargo van causing the vehicle to slide and rear-end the semi.

Pena, of Wright City, was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis for minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The cargo van was totaled and the semi sustained minor damages.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
