Car chase ends in McBride-Officer Park crash

LOUIS, MO – Police officers arrested two people for stealing a vehicle on Sunday night after the suspects crashed the car during a police chase.

Fox 2 Now reports that an adult and a juvenile threatened a driver and then stole the car around 11:30 p.m. on May 24. The driver reported no injuries from the carjacking.

An East St. Louis police officer identified the stolen car on Monday morning and pursued the suspects. The short police chase ended when the driver crashed into a bench at McBride-Officer Park near North 24th Street and St. Louis Avenue.

The officer did not report any injuries from the crash.

The police arrested the adult and the juvenile for the carjacking on Monday morning. Both people remain in police custody.
