An ATV crashed and overturned in Prairie Township Thursday evening.
At 9:10 p.m., a 2002 Kawasaki Prairie was approaching the intersection of Highways HH and 30 when it swerved off the roadway, crashed into an embankment, and overturned. The operator, a 23-year-old female, was thrown off the vehicle but was relatively unharmed, while her passenger, 25-year-old Miranda C. Bennett, was significantly injured and taken to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital for treatment. Officers subsequently arrested the female operator under the suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident is currently under investigation.
Road incidents frequently result in injuries or deaths that can have disabling or long-term effects on victims or their families. With this in mind, consulting personal injury/accident experts is advised so that aggrieved parties can be informed of legal avenues that should help them cope and find closure.
