Mechanical failure causes rollover accident

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO – A man was seriously injured when his car experienced a mechanical failure and then rolled over Tuesday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a rollover accident at approximately 5:15 on June 2. Adam Maple, 25, was driving his 1993 Honda CBR 600 near the intersection of Stormy Lane and Old Orchard Road. The Honda experienced a mechanical failure that caused Maple to lose control of the car, which overturned and threw Maple onto the road.

Police officers on the scene report that Maple was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Maple sustained serious injuries when he was ejected from the vehicle. A Survival Flight helicopter rushed Maple to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for immediate treatment. There is no information about Adam Maple’s current condition available at this time.
