Baby Fatality Risk Forces Graco Pack ‘n Play Rock ‘n Grow Playard Recall

wp-imagePopular infant accessories Graco Pack ‘n Play Day2Dream Playard with Bedside Sleeper, Graco Pack ‘n Play Nuzzle Nest Playard, Graco Pack ‘n Play Everest Playard and Graco Pack ‘n Play Rock ‘n Grow Playard have all been named as part of a recall because of a potentially dangerous inclined sleeper included with each one.

The recall was instituted following infant deaths involving similar inclined sleepers sold by a number of manufacturers Babies have suffocated in these products after rolling from their backs to their stomachs or sides, or due to other circumstances.

About 51,000 Graco units, sold at Babies R Us, BuyBuyBaby, Amazon.com, Target.com and various other stores and websites have been recalled. They include:

  • Day2Dream Playard & Bedside Sleeper sold November 2017 through September 2020
  • Nuzzle Nest Playard sold May 2015 through December 2018 
  • Everest Playard sold September 2015 through December 2018
  • Rock ‘n Grow Playard sold December 2019 through April 2020

Each set sold for between $270 and $350. 

According to the owners’ manuals on each product, caretakers can continue to use the playard, changing station and bassinet portions of the products without the inclined sleeper accessory.

Model numbers for these sleepers are located on the underside, on a label on one of the tubes of the playards. Recalled models are:

  • Graco Pack ‘n Play Day2Dream Playard & Bedside Sleeper
    Models 2034085, 2048753 and 2053215
  • Graco Pack ‘n Play Nuzzle Nest Playard
    Models 1947177 and 1896392
  • Graco Pack ‘n Play Everest Playard
    Models 1946902 and 1946903
  • Graco Pack ‘n Play Rock ‘n Grow Playard
    Model 2105055
