Florissant man killed when Jeep rolls down ditch in Berkeley area

BERKELEY, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A man was killed when his Jeep overturned in an accident this evening in the Berkeley area on I-170, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on northbound I-170, near Airport Road, at 8:07 p.m., when 36-year-old Florissant resident Daryl Jacobs, Jr., lost control of his vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, went off the side of the roadway and rolled down a ditch.

Jacobs, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:18 p.m.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The Jeep was totaled in the crash.
