SALEM, MO (DENT COUNTY) – A 27-year-old woman was killed in rural Dent County after a vehicle backed over her yesterday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on County Road 330, about eight miles north of Salem, at approximately 1:30 p.m. as 27-year-old Valeria R. Hopwood, of Salem, was crouching down beside a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan.
The driver, 28-year-old Kelsey A. Bush, also of Salem, failed to see Hopwood and backed the vehicle over her.
Hopwood was taken to the hospital, and there was pronounced dead at 2:51 p.m.
Bush was not reported as injured.
