3 children hospitalized after multiple school busses crash near Lake St. Louis

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO – Three children were transported to the hospital after two busses from the Wentzville School District crashed near Lake St. Louis Tuesday afternoon.

According to Fox 2 Now, the accident occurred near the intersection of Holloway Drive and Lake St. Louis Boulevard.

Initial reports suggested the crash was caused by a sedan that swerved into oncoming traffic and struck one bus head-on. One of the busses involved in the crash skidded into a ditch while the other sustained minor damage.

Bystanders and emergency crews jumped into action getting all of the elementary school-aged children off the bus and to safety.

Police say three children were transported to a local hospital, their conditions remain unknown as of Wednesday.

An investigation into the official cause of the crash is underway.
