Cape Girardeau woman airlifted to Creve Coeur after Rt MM crash

LEASBURG, MO (CRAWFORD COUNTY) – A Cape Girardeau woman was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition following an accident Friday afternoon near Leasburg, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on Route MM, about a mile south of Leasburg, at 4:42 p.m. A 1999 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a mailbox.

The driver of the pickup, 35-year-old Natalie D. Followell, then overcorrected the vehicle, causing it to subsequently run off the left side of the roadway. The pickup next collided with a tree and rolled over an unspecified number of times.

Followell was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur with serious wounds. Her current condition was not available in the report.

No others were injured in the accident.

The pickup was totaled in the crash.
