Barnhart man injured in rear-end crash near Franklin County

PACIFIC, MO (ST. LOUIS COUNTY) – A man was injured following a rear-end collision yesterday morning on Interstate 44 near the border of Franklin and St. Louis Counties, according to a crash report published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 8:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-44, near the border of Franklin County.

A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by 34-year-old St. Louis woman Jamie E. Placentia, changed lanes when it was unsafe to do so, and the front of the vehicle collided with the back-left side of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado.

The driver of the Silverado, Barnhart man Thomas R. Piotrowski, 37, was taken to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened.
