ST. LOUIS, MO – A 20-year-old woman was killed and four people were injured, including two young children, in a single-vehicle rollover crash on I-270 this afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on I-270 north of Gravois Road at around 2:05 p.m., after the driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, 22-year-old Festus man Colby A. Price, went off the west side of the highway. There he crashed into the guardrail, which caused the vehicle to overturn. At least one person was ejected during the crash.
20-year-old passenger Marissa L. Nixon was pronounced dead at 2:25 p.m.
Price and a passenger, 39-year-old Festus man Randall C. Nixon, were taken to the hospital for the treatment of severe injuries.
Two children in the vehicle, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy both from Fenton, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
All but Marissa Nixon were wearing a safety device when the accident occurred.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
