7-year-old boy killed, 3 others injured in rollover crash NE of Lebanon

SLEEPER, MO (LACLEDE COUNTY) – A 7-year-old boy was killed, and three other people, including a 5-year-old boy, were injured during a rollover crash in Laclede County early this morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred about 5.5 miles northeast of Lebanon on westbound I-44, near mile marker 135, at 2:48 a.m.

31-year-old Keyvonne K. Johnson, of Phoenix, Arizona, was driving a 2010 GMC Terrain when the vehicle went off the right side of the highway. The GMC traveled down an embankment before rolling over.

Johnson and a passenger, a 7-year-old boy from Indianapolis, Indiana, were ejected from the vehicle.

The 7-year-old was declared dead at the scene at 3:55 a.m.

Johnson was airlifted to the hospital in Springfield with severe injuries.

Two additional passengers, a 5-year-old boy and 27-year-old Myron L. Johnson, both also of Indianapolis, sustained minor wounds in the crash.

All four victims were traveling without a seatbelt or safety device.

The SUV was totaled in the collision.
