40-year-old driver sustains serious injuries in Highway D accident

MONROE COUNTY, MO – A 40-year-old Wellsville driver was seriously injured in an accident on eastbound Highway D on Monday night.

Jennifer A. Chappins was traveling east on Highway D in a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she failed to negotiate a curve, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The Chevrolet traveled off the left side of the highway and overturned around 9:10 p.m.

Chappins was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia. She was not wearing a seat belt.

The Chevrolet sustained moderate damages.
