36-year-old passenger injured in Highway 221 accident

DOE RUN, MO – A 36-year-old Fredricktown passenger was injured in a single-vehicle crash on eastbound Highway 221 on Wednesday night.

Daniel Michaels, 33, was traveling east on Highway 221 in a 1999 Honda Accord, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the highway, hit the ground, and overturned. MSHP reports the crash happened at Henson Road around 7:45 p.m.

A passenger, Daniel J. Ritch, was transported to Parkland Hospital Farmington for minor injuries. Neither he nor Michaels were wearing seat belts.

The Honda was totaled.
