33-year-old driver injured in Ste. Genevieve County accident

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO – A 33-year-old Alton, IL driver was injured in a single-vehicle accident on southbound I-55 on Monday night.

Jacob L. Buntjen was traveling south on I-55 in a 1993 Toyota Tacoma, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the interstate and struck 20 cable posts at mile marker 142 around 9 p.m.

Buntjen was transported to Ste. Genevieve Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The Toyota was totaled.
