ST. PETERS, MO – Three people were injured Tuesday night when four vehicles, including a semi truck, collided on westbound I-70 near MO-94.

KMOV reports that the chain-reaction crash took place at 9:30 p.m. on May 4, when a Ford Mustang merging into the right lane of I-70 struck a semi truck. The Mustang then ricocheted into the left side of the interstate, while the semi spun across all the travel lanes.

The driver of a Ford Explorer swerved to avoid the initial crash, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Finally, a Ford Fusion crashed into the Mustang, which had come to a stop in the far left lane. The Mustang’s driver was ejected from the vehicle, which then caught fire.

Three motorists were hospitalized following the crash. Their current conditions are not known.
