18-year-old Fayette driver injured after Honda hits tree

HOWARD COUNTY, MO – An 18-year-old Fayette driver was injured after his 1999 Honda Civic crashed into a tree on Thursday morning.

Alexander C. Scott was traveling east on Highway FF when his Honda traveled off the right side of the highway, police report. He over-corrected and the Honda returned to the road before it traveled off the left side of the highway. The Honda hit a ditch, overturned, and crashed into a tree around 7:40 a.m.

Scott was transported to University Hospital for minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

The Honda was totaled.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
