Young woman riding bicycle struck and killed in Clayton hit-and-run

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO — A 19-year-old St. Louis woman was killed early Monday morning when an unknown vehicle struck her and fled the scene in Clayton, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 170 north of Forest Park Parkway and was reported at 12:19 a.m.

According to the MSHP crash report, the young woman was traveling in lane 1, or the left lane, when she was struck from behind by the unknown vehicle going northbound.

Emergency personnel pronounced the cyclist dead on scene at 12:28 a.m.

No further information has been reported regarding the fleeing vehicle and at-fault driver, but the crash report indicates that the vehicle sustained moderate damage in the crash.
