Young man injured in crash on US-61 in St. Charles County

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO — A 19-year-old Louisiana man was injured early Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on US Route 61 near Wentzville, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Trooper D. O. Johnson responded to the accident along the northbound lanes of US-61 south of Route P at 2:40 a.m.

The young man was heading northbound in a 2009 Chevrolet Spark when his vehicle veered off the east edge of the roadway, causing the front of his vehicle to strike a tree.

The driver was transported by ambulance to SSM Health Joseph Hospital at Lake St. Louis with minor injuries.

The MSHP crash report lists “failure to drive on a roadway with sufficient width” as a factor in the crash.

The Chevrolet Spark was totaled in the accident.
