Worker falls to death in Pontoon Beach

PONTOON BEACH, IL – A man fell to his death while working on a hotel sign in Pontoon Beach on Friday, says the Associated Press.

Timothy M. Funk, 41, fell about 60 feet when the bucket lift he was using broke from its support arm. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died.

We do not currently know what caused the bucket lift to break, nor the exact location of the fatal accident. However, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified of the incident, and is likely to launch an investigation.
