Woman seriously injured in Jefferson County T-bone collision

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are looking into the cause of a T-bone collision that sent one woman to the hospital in serious condition Friday morning.

According to the official accident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Route A near Business Route 21 shortly before 8:00 a.m.

Police say the driver of a 2016 Kia Optima made an abrupt left turn and was struck on the driver’s side door by a 2011 Oshkosh Conventional Truck.

The driver of the Kia, 58-year-old Sherry Koening was airlifted to Mercy Hospital South to be treated for serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was unharmed.
