Woman seriously injured after crash on I-55 NB in southwest St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO — A 26-year-old Illinois woman suffered serious injuries Sunday night after a single-vehicle crash involving a cargo van on Interstate 55 northbound in southwest St. Louis, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-55 north of Butler Hill Road and was reported by Trooper M. T. McCoy at 10:10 p.m.

The young woman was driving a 2019 Ram Promaster cargo van northbound when her vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway before striking several trees and a wall.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Mercy South Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition has not been disclosed.

The Ram Promaster sustained extensive damages in the accident.
