Woman injured in two-car collision on Highway J in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, MO — A 37-year-old Wright City woman was injured Thursday night in a two-car collision on Highway J near Troy, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on a stretch of Highway J at Deerpath Court and was reported by Trooper A. T. Borgic at 9:50 p.m.

A 23-year-old Troy man was at the wheel of a 2000 Honda Accord going southbound on the highway when his vehicle failed to maintain a single lane and drifted across the centerline, striking a northbound 2016 Kia Optima driven by the woman.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported by a private conveyance to Progress West Hospital.

The causing driver was not reported injured, though the MSHP crash report indicates he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Both vehicles were totaled as a result of the accident and were towed from the scene.
