Woman injured, car totaled in Lake St. Louis car accident

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO – A woman from Lake St. Louis was injured Sunday morning in a car accident on Interstate 70, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 11:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70, near Lake St. Louis Boulevard, when a 2012 Dodge Ram changed lanes when it was unsafe to do so.

The Dodge, driven by 76-year-old Dennis A. Newman, of East Alton, Illinois, then collided with a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Lake St. Louis woman Celeste C. Mazzola, 33.

Mazzola was treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital by the St. Charles County Ambulance District.

The Silverado was totaled in the collision.
