Woman injured after striking tree in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – One woman was taken to the hospital after striking a tree in Jefferson County Tuesday night.

According to an official report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Emily Schmitz lost control of her 2000 Chevy Cavalier and collided with a tree on Fiedler Lane near Bridleton Woods Lane.

Schmitz was transported to Mercy Hospital South to be treated for moderate, non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
